Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?
Clapton & Homerton, Hackney.
ARE YOU INSURED?
We are proud to be insured by the UK’s number 1 pet insurance, Pet Plan.
This covers:
- Public Liability
- Professional Indemnity
- Loss/Theft of keys
- Animal care custody & control of animals
- Custodial Responsibility
WILL MY DOG(S) BE ON/OFF A LEAD?
Your dog’s safety is our number one priority. Dog will always be kept on leads when walking on pavements and near roads.
If your dog is new to my walks or they are still mastering their recall, they will be kept on a long line with a tracker, until we are confident that they can be let off.
WHAT DO I NEED FROM YOU?
First, we politely ask that you complete the enquiry form on the contact us page with as much detail as possible. This is to ensure that we both have your contact details for invoicing, but also so that we are equipped with the knowledge we need about your dog’s behaviour and quirks prior to our first meeting.
At your request, we can then arrange to meet you for a quick chat in your home where you can decided if our services are right for you and your dog.
To ensure we protect the dynamic of the group, your dog will then come out for a trial walk. We want every dog to be happy and comfortable during walks - including yours!
If all goes well and both parties are happy to proceed, we ask that you leave us with a set of keys if you won’t be home on their first day.
We advise booking a weekly space to secure your dog’s place on walks. If you are unable to commit to this, we can only offer walking spaces on a first come first serve basis.
HOW MANY DOGS ARE IN A GROUP WALK?
In the interest of the safety, we only walk dogs in small groups - with a maximum of five dogs per group. Occasionally we may may need to walk in a group of six, but we much prefer smaller groups!
DO I NEED TO LEAVE KEYS?
If you are not going to be home when we pick up your dog, you can leave us with a set of keys. These are kept in a key safe when not in use and are covered by our insurance (see above).
WHAT TIME WILL MY DOG(S) BE WALKED?
This depends on the service you require. If you need your dog walked at a specific time, please do let us know and we will try our best to accommodate you.
Typically I have two group walks per day:
Morning pick up between 9-10am.
Afternoon pick up between 12-2pm.
We can provide a more accurate 30 minute window of pick up before your dog’s first day.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL THE WALK?
To ensure the dogs on the waiting list are given a chance to join the walks and no spaces are left open in the small groups, we ask that you please give us a minimum of 72 hours notice when cancelling a walk.
If you cancel within 72 hours of the walk, you will be charged for the full price of the walk.
HOW DO I PAY FOR THE WALK?
Invoices are sent out monthly, in the last week of the month. We ask that you pay via bank transfer to the Off Lead business bank account.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CASE OF EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS?
Adverse weather conditions can impact walks both in the summer and winter. Should we have any concerns about the safety of your dog after checking the weather forecast, we may need to change the time, cancel or cut a walk short at the last minute. We will aim to provide at least 24-48 hours notice.
We will only cancel a walk if it's completely necessary and we can offer a drop in service for toileting if you are not home.
Your dog's safety is our number one priority!
WHAT IF MY DOG IS ON A SPECIFIC DIET?
We carry a variety of treats with us to ensure that no dog is left out of treat time! Please do let us know of any food allergies before your dog’s first walk, so that we can be prepared. Poultry is a common allergy in dogs, therefore we usually do not carry any poultry based treats.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DOG GETS INJURED ON A WALK?
If a dog is injured on a walk and we are unable to attend to their needs using our first aid kits, we will notify you immediately and ask that you either collect your dog (if you are available to), or gain your permission to take them to their/the closest vet on your behalf.
