Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?

This covers:

WILL MY DOG(S) BE ON/OFF A LEAD?

Your dog’s safety is my number one priority. Dog will always be kept on leads when walking on pavements and near roads.

If your dog is new to my walks or they are still mastering their recall, they will be kept on a long line with a tracker, until I am confident that they can be let off.

WHAT DO I NEED FROM YOU?

First, I politely ask that you complete the booking form on the contact us page with as much detail as possible. This is to ensure that I learn as much as I can about your dog prior to our first meeting.

At your request, I can then arrange to meet you for a quick chat in your home, where you can decided if my service is right for you and your dog.

To ensure I protect the dynamic of the group, your dog will then come out for a trial walk. I want every dog to be happy - including yours!

If all goes well and both parties are happy to proceed, I ask that you leave me with a set of keys if you won’t be home on their first day.

I advise booking a weekly slot to secure your dog’s place on walks. If you are unable to commit to this, I can only offer walking slots on a first come first serve basis.

HOW MANY DOGS ARE IN A GROUP WALK?

In the interest of the safety, I only walk dogs in small groups - with a maximum of five or six dogs per group.

DO I NEED TO LEAVE KEYS?

If you are not going to be home when I pick up your dog, you can leave me with a set of keys. These are kept in a key safe when not in use and are covered by my insurance (see above).

WHAT TIME WILL MY DOG(S) BE WALKED?

This depends on the service you require. If you need your dog walked at a specific time, please do let me know and I will try our best to accommodate you.

Typically I have two group walks per day:

Morning pick up between 8-10.

Afternoon pick up between 12:30-2.

I provide a 30 minute window for your pick up, to allow for any delays.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL THE WALK?

To ensure the dogs on my waiting list are given a chance to join my walks and no spaces are left open in my small groups, I ask that you please give me a minimum of 72 hours notice when cancelling a walk.

If you cancel within 72 hours of the walk, you will be charged for the full price of the walk.

HOW DO I PAY FOR THE WALK?

Invoices are sent out monthly at the end of the month. I ask that you pay via bank transfer to my business bank account.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CASE OF EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS?

Adverse weather conditions can impact walks both in the summer and winter. Should I have any concerns about the safety of your dog after checking the weather forecast, I may need to change the time, cancel or cut a walk short at the last minute. I can also offer a drop in service to break up their day.

I will only cancel a walk if it's completely necessary.

Your dog's safety is my number one priority!

WHAT IF MY DOG IS ON A SPECIFIC DIET?

I carry a variety of treats with me to ensure that no dog is left out of treat time! Please do let me know of any food allergies before your dog’s first walk, so that I can be prepared.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY DOG GETS INJURED ON A WALK?

If a dog is injured on a walk and I are unable to attend to their needs using my first aid kit, I will notify you immediately and ask that you either collect your dog (if you are available to), or gain your permission to take them to their/the closest vet on your behalf.
