You must be registered as self-employed and file your own taxes with HMRC.

The role will be part-time initially with minimum 20 hours per week, increasing over time, depending on your availability and passing the 3 month probation period.

There is also potential for extra hours on weekends and with boarding (in your own home)/pet sitting (in client’s homes).

Rate

£14 per hour, reviewed on completion of 3 month probation period.

Overview & Responsibilities

Provide first class care customer service and care for clients and their dogs.

Safely control multiple dogs in various weather conditions around the busy streets and green spaces of Hackney.

Pick up and drop off dogs on time for walks as scheduled in the shared calendar.

Liaise with clients regarding day to day care, update them with photos, videos and comply with special requests (where possible).

Appropriately dispose of dog waste.

Keep dogs on lead and out of dog exemption zones where specified by Hackney Council.

Take dogs to the vets in the event of emergencies.

Update calendars and complete other small administrative tasks relating to the smooth running of the business.

Job Requirements & Skills

Passionate about animal care and being outdoors.

Previous experience working with dogs.

Successful completion of a DBS check.

Physical stamina and strength - this is a physical job, with lots of walking!

Responsible and trustworthy.

Punctual with good communication skills.

Patient and compassionate.

Enjoys being part of a small but growing team.

Nice to Haves

A basic understanding of dog behaviour and positive reinforcement training.
